OUR STORY

We are Gwen and Tony Petitpierre, sister and brother, who have taken over Coldharbour Farm from our parents, Sheila and Tom, who have owned and run the farm for the last 35 years.

Coldharbour Farm consists of 15 acres, which has primarily been used for animal grazing and hay production. Sheila has run sheep for 30 years, with lambing facilities added over the years.

During Lockdown, we had a fantastic opportunity to take a step back and assess what we were doing and how to move forward, with Tom and Sheila wanting to slow down and reduce the amount of hard physical work that farming takes.

We both had periods of Furlough from day jobs, so were able to focus on developing ideas and generating income streams that tie in with the sustainable ethos that I (Gwen) had been developing over the last 15 years of producing and selling Liquid Organic Plant Food.

We built a Market Garden that is worked on an Organic Basis, as an extension to our own small veg plots. We sourced and built a polytunnel to go in the Market Garden, in which we bring on all the seeds and have grown Peppers, Aubergines, Tomatoes and Cucumbers, among other things.

We converted 3 dog kennels into Hennels and created a ChickenBNB, which has been a huge success, so we built 3 more houses. Tony, being a builder, is rather good at this sort of thing, whereas I am in charge of putting staples in to hold the wire in place.

We make small bales of hay on at least two of our fields each year, using our own farm produced fertilisers to encourage the grass growth,  Some of the hay is kept for our own use, as we still have 5 ponies on the land, and some will be sold from January onwards.

We now also have a licence for three campervans/caravans at any one time, between April and September, available to book here

Lovely owners who also sell fresh produce like eggs, sausages & marmalade😁

Lovely farm, views are lovely looking over the fields. no facilities, just a field, with a toilet emptying tank, and water tap. We have a camper so perfect for us. Owners are lovely & friendly Great pub 2 mins walk up the lane.

Gorgeous location, on a working farm, in a meadow with lovely views. Handy for walking around the reservoir or to the pub. The only facilities are a tap and a loo emptying spot. That is is all we wanted. Delightful. Owners made us feel very welcome .
